Urban Sociology- Effects of not having 2016 Olympics

Not having the world Olympics in Chicago means several things. One, Unemployment rates will remain low. We had a chance of improving jobs on a temporary basis. perhaps, the homeowners taxes will not increase.

Ald. Toni Preckwinkle (4th) disclosed Thursday that Chicago 2016 Chairman Pat Ryan is closing in on an agreement with Medline Industries, owner of the 37-acre Michael Reese site. A $485 million borrowing to finance the acquisition could be approved by the City Council next month. This may bring jobs.

Ald. Daley, The mayor has been quoted as saying he has “nothing up his sleeve” with regards to economic development for the future of the city. Representatives of the 2016 Committee said on many occasions at public meetings that this was The plan for jobs and prosperity for our future. There appears to be no Plan B. Such a smart Mayor, doesn't he have any connections to bring in contractors for new jobs?
