The census is a count of everyone in the United States and is done every 10 years. The census is homogeneous with respect to population characteristics, economic status, and living conditions. The size of census tracts varies widely depending on the density of each city. The Hispanic population has increased and in the year 2000 the Hispanic population in the United States went up to 281,421,906, according to our census, what this tells us is that the United States needs to create more community services for that ethnic group. I believe the Hispanic boom is due to the economy being so poor in the Hispanic countries.
The population in my neighborhood in Chicago according to 2000 census was 35,918. The population in the city of Chicago in the 2000 census was 2,896.016. It is hard to believe that I live in such a populated area.
